Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. Part of typical cuesta with outcrops of marlstones of the Bílá Hora and bottom parts of the Jizera formations. The topmost parts of this cuesta are formed of clayey and silty sandstones with glauconite admixture of the Jizera Formation. Some layers contain carbonate, often concentrated into irregular concretions. These sandstones yielded rich fauna.
